3D OBJECT DESIGN REVISED PROTOTYYPE

Image
When revising my template of my object, I had included tabs so that I could put the pieces together and hide things like tape and glue while doing so. With glue, I used a toothpick to spread the glue as well as get into tight spaces with glue. To hold the pieces together as the glue dried, I used tape to ensure that they would stay together. For the times I couldn't hide the tape, for example when applying the ears, I made sure to have other pieces cover them up. finished revised prototype:

When making this prototype, I applied my idea of connecting more pieces of the template together to make it more cohesive and less frustrating. As a result, it indeed made the experience more better. It was less frustrating, and the prototype looks sleeker in its design compared to the previous prototype. I created this prototype with coloured paper to flesh out my vision of this design. This design is also much bigger, roughly the size of my hand, compared to the previous one. I had forgotten that I had more to this design, such as decal-like designs on the back of this object. Since I got the helmet's main base and am happy with it, I think it is appropriate to try and figure out the decal-like designs for it. I will be using Rhino to help assist me with that and I may make a template for it to see if it will be placed on perfectly. I think I need to work on making the visor more fitting for this object, as the edges of the visor don't really align with some of the pieces. I

To create my papercraft design, I first created the object within Rhino. Before unrolling them, I created four separate sections for the piece. I divided them so they would be easier to fold and put together in real life.  For one of these pieces, I separated them a bit too much. This created confusion on which piece went where. It also made the piece look messy when I tried pasting it together and was tedious as a result. I had to go back into Rhino multiple times and combine these separate pieces to overcome this. Working with the paper copy made me better understand how this template was and whether things would work and helped me adjust accordingly.                               Papercraft Results: I think overall, this prototype is okay but can definitely be improved upon and left me frustrated during its creation. I think I need to combine more pieces together as the way I have printed the templates out was tedious to paste together. It also looked messy compared to when I revi
